Please notice:

On the day of your scheduled appointment with FSOF, it is important to note that we reserve the right to refuse service if you do not comply with our terms and conditions. Please understand that your deposit will not be refunded and cannot be applied to a future appointment.

We are a non-profit spay and neuter clinic dedicated to caring for domesticated and feral cats, and our time and space are limited on a daily basis. We thank you for complying with our terms and conditions and for understanding the importance of our policies. By following these guidelines, we can continue to provide the best possible care for the cats in our community.

DROP OFF for SURGERY is from 7:00 - 7:45am

We are very strict with drop off times. Drop off is 7:00 a.m. - 7:45 a.m. We can not take any cat in after 7:45 due to surgery starting at that time.

Missed Surgery appointments are NON-REFUNDABLE.

If you miss your appointment, you may go online and schedule another appointment and pay another non-refundable deposit.

Feral cats

All feral cats must come in a trap. If you bring a feral cat in a crate, we will not accept your cat in for surgery. This is for the safety of our staff. You will also lose your deposit and need to reschedule.

Knowing the sex of your cat.

Please be very certain of the sex of your cat, if you try to bring a female into a male slot, we will not be able to do the surgery as we only have so many time slots for certain females and males. If you are uncertain please let our staff know at drop off so they can check for you.

**UPON ARRIVAL PLEASE STAY IN YOUR VEHICLE & TEXT US at 301-800-6092 that you have arrived.

Please Park Across from the Clinic in Designated Spaces Marked by Orange Traffic Cones.
One of our staff members will come to your vehicle to greet you and go over paperwork.
Please DO NOT walk up the stairs. We will meet and greet you at stairs to retrieve your pet and paperwork.
We ask that everyone be available by cell phone in case we have any questions or concerns.

**PICK UP INSTRUCTIONS

We will text you with a time for pickup and your total price. Please be available or have someone available to pick up at your told pickup time from the text message.

Even though we do not close until 1:30, we give you a time of pick up for your cat because of several reasons.

~ Limited space

~ Cats need to be in their normal environment so they are not stressed.

~ Less stress equals safer recovery.

Pre-Op info to know before arriving for your appointment

1. PLEASE ARRIVE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT NO LATER THAN 7:45 am

We operate on a strict schedule and the times of intake and discharge are imperative. If you are not able to keep your appointment, please let us know the night before, as there are many animals that need to come in and they are in need of appointments. Please be considerate of pets that NEED to get in.

2. Make sure to have your cat in a secure cat carrier

Please be sure all cats are in a secure crate or trap that is size appropriate. Please make sure that the crates are not broken and the latches are able to be opened and closed. Your cat will recover in the carrier/trap/crate it arrives in.

3. Feeding the Night Before

For younger animals, under the age of 4 months of age, need to keep their glucose levels up so you can give them a teaspoon of canned cat food before 7am. DO NOT TAKE THEIR FOOD AWAY THE NIGHT BEFORE.

For older pets, over 4 months of age, don’t forgot to take up any food after 9pm the night before surgery and leave the water down.

4. Please bring proof of prior rabies vaccine, if you have it.

If you do not bring prior proof of rabies to your appointment then several things can happen. Maryland is a mandated state that your animal has to have a rabies vaccine.

1. We will give your cat a rabies vaccine.

2. You will need to text us proof of rabies before we will do the surgery.

3. You will need to reschedule your appt if you do not want us to do the vaccine.

5. Animals can NOT stay overnight at FSOF

We will text you with a time that you need to pick up your cat and your price for pickup. Please be available or have someone available for the time of pick up that we give you from your text.

6. If any cats come in with live fleas, they will be treated at owner expense

We offer Bravecto, which is a 12 week application, applied between shoulder blades. Please do not wash or wipe off. Price is dependent on size of pet.

Discharge for Females

All female (except ferals) cats will go home with either a ecollar or a onsie.
Cats also go home with pain medication for $10.00.
You are more than welcome to bring your own cone or onsie when you drop off.
